How is this different from push-to-talk?

Push-to-talk is one person at a time, out to a channel. A call is both of you talking at once, like a phone.

Can I call someone from the map?

Yes. Tap them on the map and hit call, or do it from the thread or the team list.

What if the connection is bad?

The video drops its quality, then drops away entirely, and the voice keeps going.
