Does TeamMap work without internet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Reports, checkpoint scans, GPS breadcrumbs, and incident logs save to the phone first. They upload on their own once the phone finds signal, so someone in a dead zone keeps working.

Question 2

My team will push back on being tracked. What do I tell them?

Accepted Answer

Lead with the alibi. When a client says nobody showed up last night, the worker’s own GPS trail and checkpoint scans settle it — the record clears them far more often than it catches them. Then the specifics. Tracking is tied to the work, not the person: it arms at clock-in and stops at clock-out, and a task or route that shares live location releases the same way when that work ends. Everyone has a "Show on map" switch in their own settings. Turn it off and their live pin leaves the dispatcher’s map, while SOS and geofence alerts keep working. They can read their own hours in My Timesheets. Be straight about one thing: if a shift, task, or route requires live location, the app will not let them start it until sharing is on.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

You export it yourself, then you cancel yourself — neither step needs us. Timesheets, payroll, audit logs, sweep audit trails, and chat channel history export to CSV from the screens that own them, and reports export as PDF. Cancellation runs through the Stripe billing portal in Settings, so there is no notice period and no call to book. We do not sell your personal information and we do not sell location data — that is in our Privacy Policy, not just on this page.

Is my location and operations data secure?

TeamMap runs on Google Cloud. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Google Cloud’s platform encryption. Location data is only visible to members of your organization — every query and access rule is scoped to your org. Role-based access controls let you decide who sees what.

Question 5

Is there a contract, or a minimum term?

No contract. Plans are priced per seat and you choose monthly or annual billing — annual costs less per seat, monthly leaves you free to walk at the next renewal. You cancel yourself from the billing portal in Settings. The free plan never asks for a card.

What does setup involve?

Three steps: create your org, invite your team by email, and drop pins for your sites. No hardware to ship and no IT project — your team uses the phones they already carry. How long that takes is down to how many sites and people you are loading, so we would rather show you the steps than sell you a number.

What devices does TeamMap run on?

Accepted Answer

The web dashboard works in any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). Field teams use native iOS and Android apps. No special hardware, no proprietary handsets — your team can bring their own phones or use company-issued devices.

Why use TeamMap instead of separate tools?

Can I import data from another system?

CSV import covers route waypoints and sweep subjects today. For anything else, send a sample file to hello@teammap.co and we will tell you straight whether we can read it.

Does TeamMap integrate with payroll, billing, or HR systems?

Not by direct connector. Timesheets and payroll data export to CSV, which is what most payroll systems take as an import. Billing runs on Stripe.

What happens if someone triggers an SOS?

A panic alert sends their GPS location and any open incident context, then notifies dispatchers, supervisors, and your configured escalation contacts by push and email.

Can I customize reports and checklists?

Yes. Build reports in the drag-and-drop editor — text, photos, signatures, GPS, NFC scans, conditional logic, and required fields. Reports attach to sites, shifts, or tasks, and their results export as PDF you can hand to a client.

Where is my data stored?

Accepted Answer

TeamMap runs on Google Cloud, and today every organization’s data lives in Google Cloud’s United States regions. There is no per-customer region selection yet — so if your contract or your regulator requires data held in a specific country, TeamMap cannot do that today.
